The mini range of Song meters and Bat recorders is the more affordable and smaller version. It is derived from Wildlife Acoustics previous model the SM4. Due to the reduction in size it has come at its costs. The Minis can’t last as long as the SM4 since there are less space for batteries. This is not a huge lose if theft is an issue in the area you are recording. The minis are still compatible to work with the analysis software. There is the option to add an extra microphone to capture everything it possibly can.
