The bracket fits like a glove into the plastic back of the solar panel. This bracket makes attaching the panel to a tree vastly easier.

The Solar panel is not reliant on the bracket to be attached to surfaces. There is a molded hole in the base of the panel which is suitable for mounting on a metal pole.
