Addison Blow Dart Kit – 3ml (small) and 5ml (large) blow dart kits, provide remote injection up to 10 to 20 meters range.

Each Addison Blow Dart kit provides complete components including reusable syringe darts and needles, packaged in a fully lined zippered case.  Basically, it is everything you need to get started except the drug that you want to use.

Each Complete kit includes:

• 4.5 foot take down blowpipe
• 3 syringe darts, 3 needles
• 1 practice dart or practice needle
• 1 venting pin
• 1 safety cap
• 1 syringe connector
• 1 cleaning kit
• 1 instruction manual
• 1 custom blowpipe case

Small –  The 3 ml Kit comes with 3 off 3 ml darts, 2 off 1.2 x 38 mm, 1 off 0.9 x 25 mm needle.

Large – The 5 ml Kit comes with 3 off 5 ml darts,  3 off 1.2 x 38 mm needles.

Recommendations for which size darts to use;

The 0.9 x 25 mm (20 gauge) needles are used for smaller animals such as small wildlife, cats and small to medium sized dogs.

The 1.2 x 38 mm (18 gauge) needles are used for large animals such as cattle, horses, large wildlife and some large dogs.

The 1.1 x 30 mm (19 gauge) needles are a happy medium between the two other sizes, so medium sized livestock and wildlife and some dogs.

How Does it Work?

The syringes work through the use of air pressure, which injects the drug or vaccine through a hole in the side of the needle, known as a port. The port is sealed by a tiny silicone sleeve, which is pushed back by the animal’s skin upon needle penetration.

The injection automatically follows, and the sleeve remains at the needle hub for reuse.

Dart dosages are variable. For example: A three -ml syringe can be used to inject only one-half-ml if desired. The dosage amounts range from one-quarter-ml to five-ml, the largest syringe

Helpful Hint – A major feature of the blow dart is its silence in comparison to a standard capture gun. Silent injections are less likely to disturb animals, allowing for multiple injections without frightening surrounding animals and the patients themselves.

Usage – This is a remote injection system that delivers drugs or vaccine to previously unreachable or excitable animals.  With a little practice the syringe can be targeted from a distance of up to 20 meters, with good accuracy.  (Once you’ve got a good technique!)
